ANNOUNCEMENTS
  • Congregants who will not be using their seats ordered for YOM KIPPUR are kindly requested to notify the relevant gabba'im NOW.
  • Setting up for Yom Kippur minyanim will take place on Thursday evening at 20:00. Congregants from all minyanim are invited to come and help, and also to help take everything down at the end of the fast.
     
  • Hashkama Minyan notice: Mincha on Yom Kippur will be at 15:30 in the library.
    (Mincha in the other two minyanim will be at 15:45, as published in the PDF calendar).
     
  • Yom Kippur message for our youngest members:
    • It is lovely to see you in shul, but if you think that you might make noise, please have a grown-up with you, ready to take you out if needed.
    • Those packets of Bamba, cookies etc. best to keep them outside of shul - so as not to tempt the grown-ups who are fasting.
       
  • Motsei Yom Kippur breakfast: The congregation is invited to come and celebrate Yoav's brithday (the 16th anniversary) in the customary manner!
     
  • As in previous years, our community Outreach-קהילה group (Pasifas) is working with the Matnas on the Communal Yom Kippur and Succa projects. A listing of the events is included in the calendar that appears in this bulletin.

HOSPITALITY, COMINGS & GOINGS
The community wishes to know about new arrivals or people planning to come to Rehovot so that we can welcome them. You may send in their details for the weekly bulletin, to hospitality@bermanshul.org or to Chaya Tannor.
  • Welcome to new Bermans members Aviva & Shua Spotts and their 4 children, who made aliyah recently from Baltimore. Their contact details have been added to the membership directory.
     
  • A young (frum, English-speaking) woman is looking to move to Rehovot within the next month. She is looking to rent a room, initially for a month, to be extended for a year. Any ideas? Please call, 054-4784496

  • Members organizing private events (e.g. wedding, bar/bat mitzva celebrations etc.) are advised to use the shul calendar as follows:
    1. You can check for a date that does not clash with another event in the community.
    2. You may have your event listed as an anonymous "private event" so that others can avoid scheduling another event at the same time. Please let any board member know or send your request by e-mail to bermanshul@gmail.com.

  • Little League Baseball
    The Rehovot Little League team of the Israel Association of Baseball is looking for motivated boys and girls for the 2010-11 season. We hope to field two teams this year. One team for ages 7-9, and a more advanced team for ages 10-12. The program, which runs from October to June, includes weekly Friday practices and league games against teams from other cities such as Ra'anana, Modi'in and Jerusalem.
