  • Mazal tov to Frank Colb on his 90th birthday. This Shabbat the Colb family is sponsoring the kiddush in his honor.
     
  • Mazal tov to Esher & Yakov Steinmetz on the birth of a grandson, Yehonathan David, and to the parents Barry & Tamar Oliel. The brit took place in Denver.
     
  • Mazal tov to Audrey & Fred Samuels on the birth of a grandson to their children Chana and Eyal Engel. Mazal Tov also to Eyal's parents Shmuel & Yaffa Engel of Rehovot.

  • Annual General Meeting
    The 2010 Shul AGM has been called for 9 May at 8 PM.
    • Agenda items should be sent to president@bermanshul.org.
    • In preparation for the meeting, you are invited to read the following online documents (some documents are restricted to members, who will need to log in to the community website using their own username and password):
      1. Board Meeting Minutes (includes the recent minutes from 9th March, 13th April and 4th May)
      2. 2010 Audit Committee Report 
      3. The revised/final 2010 shul budget
      4. Visual Presentation of AGM-related items
    • Please think about what you can do for the community. Our community is held together by the efforts of volunteers. Maybe you can use your skills and experience to help with the administrative tasks or with social and educational activities. If you are willing to consider serving on the board (as gabbai, board member, president, treasurer) on a subcommittee or on the audit committee, or you are willing to help in any other way, please speak to Mechael Kanovsky (e-mail president@bermanshul.org) or any member of the current Board. Don't be shy! You can help even without standing for election.
       
  • The azkara for our dear member Jay Goldstein (Yakov Sandor) ז"ל will take place Thursday 13th May (29th of Iyyar, 5770)  at the Rehovot Cemetery.  Family and friends will gather at 18:15 at the cemetery entrance.
     
  • Comedy-writing workshop for adults
    Discouraged that you had nothing funny to say at last year’s AGM? Worried that this year will be no different? Wondering how to make your funny stories even zippier? Then join Hani Skutch in a Berman Comedy Workshop – for adults – that will look at the basics of comedy writing. Thursday, May 13th, 7:30pm, at shul. FREE.   • The azkara for our dear Shamai Siegal ז"ל will take place Thursday 20th May (7th of Sivan, 5770)  at the Rehovot Cemetery.  Family and friends will gather at 18:45 at the cemetery entrance.

  • Married couple (mid 50’s) making aliyah from USA in August are anxious to find a 3.5 or 4 room apartment within walking distance (20 minutes) of Chatam shul. They are looking to rent a 100+ metre apartment on the 1st or 2nd floor, under 3,800 NIS per month.
