- The Zedaka Committee would like to thank all those who responded so generously
to last week’s appeal for donations to the zedaka fund. We now have sufficient
reserves to honour all our regular commitments as well as to assist with other
requests. Our community has demonstrated yet again its willingness to respond to
the needs of others. Thank you for your generosity.
- We are pleased to announce a new weekly Berman’s shiur by Prof. David Tannor
called Parshat Hashavua: Reading Between the Lines, to be held on Shabbat after
Kiddush (from 11:00-11:30 AM) in the back of the shul. The shiur will be in
English and will analyze the parsha through rabbinic (and occasionally
non-rabbinic) eyes. Beginning and advanced students of the Parsha (women and
men) are warmly invited. The shiur continues with its second meeting this
Shabbat, Parshat Chayei Sarah.
- We are trying to organize a group from the shul to go for a Friday-Shabbat
getaway on 8th-9th January 2010 (Parshat Shemot). Shabbat will be spent in the
Har Tavor Hotel near Kfar Tavor.
Further details are posted on the shul
